CDAS
At CDAS, we are “For the Industry, by the Industry” as representatives of the container depot operators and associated container logistics service providers (i.e. transport operators) in Singapore. With the steady development of China enterprises in Singapore, eleven Chinese enterprises including Cosco Shipping, China Construction (South Pacific) Development Pte Ltd, Bank of China Singapore Branch and China Insurance (S) Pte Ltd proposed the establishment of China Enterprises Association (Singapore) with the support from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Republic of Singapore.
The establishment of the association (official opening on 2nd of Feb 1999) marks a milestone in the development of Chinese enterprises in Singapore. Up to date, China Enterprises Association (Singapore) has near 1000 members, which are in such sectors as finance, trading, resources, shipping, air-transport, construction, education, Hi-Tech, Hotel and restaurant, representative offices, etc.
There are state-owned companies as well as provincial’s “Window companies” and small sized trading companies in the association.
“One tree does not make a forest”, the establishment of China Enterprises Association (Singapore) signifies that Chinese enterprises in Singapore have an association that represents their interest. The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) is a government-related organization that works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world. The Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) is established since 1981 as the official representative body of Singapore’s furniture and furnishings industry. The Singaporean-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (SGC) is part of a network of
150 offices of the German bilateral Chambers of Industry and Commerce abroad in 93 countries. The Chamber is one of the largest national Business Chambers in Singapore with

Established as the Singapore Freight Forwarders Association in 1973, the association was renamed Singapore Logistics Association (SLA) in 1999 to reflect the growth and wide-ranging logistics activities offered by its members.
